If you’ve been using ANKOM’s RF Gas Production System, you might have heard the news: the original RF Gas Module has been discontinued, and the new RF2000 Gas Production System is now the replacement.

Here’s a quick breakdown.

What Does the RF2000 Do?

Like the original RFS gas production system, the RF2000 monitors gas producted by enzymatic reactions. It’s used for:

• Rumen and forage research
• Feed digestibility testing
• Nutritional evaluation
• Fermentation studies

What's New in the RF2000?

1. Easy module pairing: no factory reset needed

The RF2000 lets end users pair modules to the coordinator easily. 

2. LED indicator for quick visual connection status

A simple light tells you if a module is connected. 

3. Supports up to 75 modules per coordinator

If you're running high-throughput gas production trials, you can now scale up without needing multiple coordinators.

4. Easy USB charging and extended battery life

Charging is simpler, and the battery lasts longer. For labs that run long-term studies, this reduces downtime and hassle.

Should You Upgrade to the ANKOM RF2000 Gas Production System?

Consider moving to the RF2000 if you:

• Are buying your first gas production system
• Need to replace an aging RFS gas production system or gas module

If your lab already has an RFS gas production system, don't panic! You can keep using it, but it’s good to start thinking about when and how you might transition to the RF2000.
